Xbox Series X
Tips & walk through

Xbox Series X - Needed when you can get a PlayStation 5...?

In one article we mentioned the PlayStation 5, now it's time to talk about its closest competitor, the Xbox Series X. Historically, the Xbox is not perceived in isolation from the PlayStation, which is why this article has such a preview. And that's why we're going to help you decide which platform to choose.

Let's compare...

Even if you decide to buy a game console, you will still be tormented by doubts, fear of making the wrong choice. This can happen even in the store, because we always make purchases on emotions, and then with the help of rational thinking we put arguments on the scales of our choice.

What is better: PlayStation 5 or Xbox? Everyone decides for himself. But there are a number of facts to consider:

Design is a perennial dilemma and the cause of dozens of cholivars. There are those who complain that the PS5 is bulky; there are those who praise the laconic shape of the Xbox Series X. In fact, the PlayStation 5 came out really bulky, but the new Xbox fits on almost any shelf. On the other hand, the PS5 looks more presentable and its futuristic design will find a fan. If you are an aesthete and care about the interior of your home, the PlayStation 5 is preferable for you, because the palette of white and blue will look elegant everywhere. At the same time Xbox Series X is great in rooms with subdued light, creating a unique atmosphere along with the lava lamp. Well... With such a lamp, where inside supposedly floats a slug...

This is what coziness looks like.

Gamepad - the PlayStation 5 wins unequivocally in terms of non-xtgen features. DualSense (the PS5 gamepad) is equipped with a recoil on triggers, and built-in micro-motors help you understand what surface the character is walking or hitting in the game. In some games, the DualSense chips make you believe that the future is already here. For example: in Hogwarts Legacy, you should not use the joysticks of the gamepad during the potions making classes, but you should be waving the gamepad in the air as if you are holding a witch's staff in your hand. In Infamous: Second Son, the protagonist at the beginning of the game paints graffiti on the wall, and the player does the same...literally. The DualSense user waves his gamepad around and shakes it as if it were a spray can. The gamepad simultaneously mimics the sound of the dangling ball inside the can with its built-in speaker. The built-in speaker makes recognizable sounds. The built-in speaker DualSense contributes to the immersion with additional sounds: the splash of water, the crackle of twigs and snow, etc. The feeling is inexpressible. Another important feature of the PlayStation 5 is support for VR-technology. The Xbox Series X does not have all of this, just updated the material used to make gamepads. Of the pluses of the Xbox gamepad - it runs on thumb batteries and hold a good charge. Xbox gamepad runs without recharging for weeks, while the DualSense of PlayStation 5 runs out of power in 8 hours, and with the included extras (vibration, speaker, etc.) - only 4 hours. Also, the Xbox gamepads are of exemplary quality. Unlike DualSense, the Xbox gamepad does not rattle when you shake the controller in the air. The Xbox gamepad buttons have a micronized fit; the gamepad itself doesn't crunch when you try to twist it, and the back of the case is coated with an anti-slip coating. Bottom line: go to the DualSense for the experience, and go to the Xbox gamepad for the autonomy and benchmark build quality.

Performance - There is no visible difference between the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. Nominally, the Xbox Series X gives a juicier picture, but you can see the difference from the PlayStation 5 graphics only through a magnifying glass. With the performance of both consoles the situation is similar: somewhere PlayStation 5 will give 5 frames per second more, somewhere - the Xbox. Choosing between these consoles based on performance is silly. Whatever you take, the choice will be the right one.

Exclusives - as of 2023, PlayStation 5 has more interesting exclusives, but Sony's exclusives are albeit very bright and high quality, but still a one-time attraction. Xbox's exclusives are niche, but they last longer. For glitz, quality and emotion - go to the PlayStation 5 exclusives. For programmatic considerations, go to the Xbox Series X.

Service support and availability of games - here the Xbox looks more profitable. If you register your Xbox for the first time in the Argentine region, you can buy games for next to nothing. We didn't do that, friends told us... The Turkish region also looks profitable... for the Turks, of course. Do not change any region for the region of Argentina, you start dancing with tambourine. PlayStation 5 games cost crazy money. This console is saved by the PS Plus subscription, with more than 800 games in the library. However, the Xbox's GamePass subscription and the PlayStation 5's PS Plus subscription rarely have the freshest, highest-end titles. More often than not, poorly selling games are shoved into subscriptions to refresh interest in them. On both consoles the user will spend money in the future (paid games, subscriptions, etc.), but Xbox prices are three or even five times less.

To summarize

The choice between the Xbox Series X and the PlayStation 5 is not clear. If the first console is great as a kind of "gaming investment" for the future, the second is a great way to please yourself.

PlayStation 5 will give emotions, and Xbox - a good help in the gaming field. Whichever choice you make, you are unlikely to regret it. There are two sides to the coin of console gameplay, and both sides are bright in this case.
