Starfield will be in the GamePass subscription on release day

Starfield will be the first major Xbox exclusive. And not just any exclusive, but a GamePass subscription exclusive.

Starfield is scheduled for release on September 6, 2023. On the same day, the game will be available for download via GamePass monthly subscription.

GamePass will have Starfield: Standard Edition available as early as September 6, 2023.

Starfield is a promising project, but it has already gotten into a couple of scandals. Cut out Russian localization and fixed 30 FPS without the ability to enable 60 FPS in performance mode - just the tip of the iceberg...

...But where does the game stand when it hits the cheap subscription? Appearing on Game Pass hurts a game's ROI. Usually it's either a commercially underperforming game or an old game that shows up in the subscription. Why is Microsoft giving away one of the biggest games for next to nothing? One can only wonder: willful failure or new Xbox bravado...
